This thread is in the wrong area. 'This area is for the chat on player hardware that is devoted to the playback of music. Not for digital audio servers or computers'
Also there is already a thread that discuss 'Bluesound Audio Streamer' in the right area: 'Networking, Media Servers & Content Streaming'

I made a search for Bluesound Node 2 before I posted this thread. I did however not find any dedicated thread.
I guess Admin can move this thread to 'Networking, Media Servers & Content Streaming' and merge this thread into the already existing one. Perhaps with a better heading as this thread has. Makes it easier for people to find.

I've had the Node for about 2 years. I know it's not the Bluesounds fault but Tidal service can be spotty. Instead of going w/a new 2i unit I went w/an RME ADI2-DAC. The transparency, dynamics and soundstage were a big improvement.

I want to hear from somebody who actually upgraded from the Node 2 to the new 2i. Is there actual improvement in the audio quality like is claimed from some reviews (What HiFi) or is this just fluff? I’m pretty happy with my original unit as I don’t care about the addition of Airplay or the 5ghz wireless. All I care about is if there’s a real tangible improvement in audio quality. The Node 2 is already pretty darn good for a streamer. Thanks amigos...

Try telling that to the thousands that have posted in the Olive streamer thread since 2008!
Dedicated audio streamers (aka network audio file players) are player hardware devoted to the playback of music. So, nothing to do with 'digital audio servers', the term coined for running music file player software on a computer for 'serving digital audio' to the rest of your audio system via a DAC (which is either internal to the computer or is connected to the computer as an external dedicated unit, sometimes even already located in one of the rest of your audio system's units).

Agreed, so always best to check if there's already a thread in both this section and the 'Networking, Media Servers & Content Streaming' section.
Edit: Just noticed I read your post after several months of you posting it, due to this thread being recently revived. So apologies for the late response!
