Description
As you can see, there are other product downloads available, including Silhouette Connect, Mint Studio and Silhouette Link. For whichever product you are downloading, you will follow along the row until you reach the Download Link and choose Windows or Mac. Since I am using Windows, that is the link I will click on. I did log in to the Silhouette site and downloaded the software, but for some reason, even though I'm logged in and my Cameo was registered, none of my purchased files show up. I know that I somehow also need to move all of the cut files that I had purchased or downloaded from places besides the Silhouette store, but don't know how to do that.

Horrible
I’ve owned a silhouette for years now. I love the design capabilities that the desktop software offers this however, is garbage. It’s worse then most children’s apps. I feel like they created this application just to say they have one available. You really can’t do much with it at all. It’s no where near as effective or creative as the design studio. It’s really waste of time and space. I also own a cricut and their mobile app is far superior to this one. Although I still think that in general they have a long way to go. Save your self the time and effort just don’t download this app. I’m really hoping that in the future they will invest more time and effort into a quality application that will function as effectively and blend seamlessly with the desktop software.
Optimize for sketch pens and Apple Pencil
As far as being able to utilize this app version of Silhouette to replace the computer software version, that is a definite NO.
However, I think this app has some real potential if they fine tune some aspects of this app:
I use my iPad primarily by using the app ProCreate and the Apple Pencil for my lettering. I then import the digital image into Silhouette and trace it so that it makes that image vector. This process works wonderfully if I wish to cut the lettering and cut it into vinyl. However, there have been some projects where I know that I want to use my sketch pens, and outlining my lettering or drawing does not work as well with this process because I need a single vector line for the smaller details (versus the double outline of the traced image).
I was really excited when I realized that I could use my Apple Pencil with the vector capabilities with this app. However, after using for awhile, I soon found out that the software is not precise enough with its lines; it doesn’t draw lines with a curve. Instead, it seems to draw a bunch of small straight lines. It almost “snaps” to certain points on the grid (even though I have snap to grid turned off).
The second thing I would like this app to have is the capability to import an image onto the art board.
Lastly, it would be easier to design either on layers or at least the capability to group.

Compared to cricut software? This program rocks! please.....I don't know what the other guy is talking about, but.....I don't normally write reviews of anything, but I just got through trying out this software and it is really great! Functions great! It is basic, but has what you need to do stencils for signs and vinyl decals, and more, which is my main use right now. Sure if you want more bells and whistles and advanced functions to edit graphics and vectors download other apps like photoshop suite and there are definitely other vector apps with more stuff in them, but if you want straight forward and simple this is it. I love it, no clutter. Edit your stuff with another app and then pop it in there! Sweet! Thank you for great functionality.
